I’m back with a second exciting episode of Learn Spanish Quiz: Bathroom Bar Graffiti. Take a look at Bathroom Graffiti to see the first post with a Spanish mistake. Who knows, if I find enough seriously illiterate graffiti-ists in Spanish who hang out at the same bars as restaurants as I this may become a series.
If you can’t make out the text it is “Oye chico, ya tu save”.
Although I don’t believe a hint is required here, I’m feeling generous so…two errors are present here. With a 5 word sentence this should be quick so I’m not going to stretch this out. Here are the answers:
Turns out both errors are in the same word “save” (that’s sah-bay instead of save). The first mistake is that the word should be written with a B as in sabe. The second mistake is that the word should be sabes with an S on the end. This is required by the TU article to conjugate a word in the second person singular.
The expression Ya tu sabes is commonly used in Puerto Rico and means “Yeah, you know.”
