Spanish Quiz: Johnny Rockets Flyer
Look at the Johnny Rockets flyer to the right and figure out if there are any Spanish mistakes. Wait… a quick hint before you see the answers. HINT: I found 4 errors.
Answers:
1. Celebrea
The actual word is celebra, without the third E.
2. Cumpleanos
This is crazy. A restaurant chain promoting anuses? A CumpleANUS?? Ya know, people sometimes get lazy and don’t include accents when they write, but it seldom occurs with the N vs Ñ. And when anuses (anos) are at stake people need to be careful. Shame on them. The correct word should be Cumpleaños with the Ñ, not the N.
3. Mas
The accent mark over the A is absent. Correct is más.
4. Regalara
One missing accent completely changes the verb tense of this word. The last A should be accented, as in regalará. The unaccented A makes the word the imperfect subjunctive verb tense. The accented A is the future verb tense, the correct verb tense to be used here.
