murga

In Spanish slang, 'murga' can refer to a type of popular musical theatre performed in Uruguay, Argentina and Spain. In Spain, it is also used colloquially to refer to a group of people causing a commotion, disorder or making a lot of noise.

Examples

  • Spanish: 1. Me encanta escuchar la murga durante el carnaval. 2. Los niños en el parque estaban haciendo una murga con tanto ruido.
  • English: 1. I love listening to the murga during the carnival. 2. The kids in the park were making such a murga with all that noise.
