Verb TENER Spanish Class Activities

Verb TENER and Body Parts Vocabulary Lesson Plan for Spanish 2 – In this lesson, students learn the body parts vocabulary the verb tener in the present tense and to express symptoms using the verb tener.


Printable Poster and Handout – Verb TENER in the Present and Classroom Objects (School Supplies)  – Decorate your classroom with this colorful poster of the verb TENER conjugation in the present tense. Then, print copies of the black and white handout for your students. The poster and handout include the verb conjugation with examples that use school supplies vocabulary.


Tener que + Infinitive – Parts of the House and Household Chores Vocabulary – Through viewing an authentic music video, students will review specific vocabulary to then put to use in talking about someone else’s chores.


Preterite IR SER TENER ESTAR PODER – City Vocabulary Lesson Plan for Spanish 2 – At the end of the lesson, the students will have learned and used the vocabulary related to the city. They will be able to give directions to a specific place and move from one point to another. In addition, they will have learned and used in context the verbs to go, to be, to have, to be and to be able in the past tense.


Expressions with TENER Lesson Plan for Spanish 1 – While learning how to use tener expressions in Spanish, students will understand that the use of these expressions requires correct conjugation of the verb tener. An oral activity involving miming challenges students to practice speaking Spanish carefully in front of an audience.


Verbs TENER and SER Lesson Plan for Spanish 1 – Through a lecture supported by presentations, students will learn the conjugation and uses of the verbs tener and ser in the present tense. They will do an individual written practice and a group oral practice. Finally, they will integrate all their learnings in an oral improvisation activity.
