MÁS PERDIDO QUE UN JUEY BIZCO: Puerto Rican Spanish Slang Expression

MAS PERDIDO QUE UN JUEY BIZCO: Puerto Rican Spanish Slang Expression

Translate the Puerto Rican Spanish slang expression: MÁS PERDIDO QUE UN JUEY BIZCO

The Puerto Rican saying estar más perdido que un juey bizco is one of my favorites. This particular phrase is one of the most commonly used by locals on the island. It also uses the Puerto Rican Spanish word juey for crab.

Literal English Translation:
To be more lost than a cross-eyed crab

Definition:
This saying imply that cross-eyed crabs get lost regularly so if you’re more lost than the poor crab, you’re in big trouble. Lost refers not only to directions, but also in situations when a person does not follow a conversation or an idea.

English Equivalent:
Clueless

You can find this illustration and many others in my book Speaking Phrases Boricua: A Collection of Wisdom and Sayings from Puerto Rico.
