Spanish Proverb: QUE TU MANO IZQUIERDA NO SEPA LO QUE HACE LA DERECHA

• Literal Translation:
The left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing (Matthew 6:3)

• Variations:
1) Que tu mano izquierda no sepa que hace la derecha
2) Que no sepa tu mano izquierda lo que hace la derecha
3) Que tu mano izquierda no sepa lo que hizo la derecha

• Meanings:
1) That meaning alluded to the wisdom of not giving oneself credit for providing charity to others – just give and forget about it.
2) We presently use the phrase to suggest that, one should keep one’s interests independent of each other.
